Royal Enfield’s New Himalayan 450
Royal Enfield has exciting news for motorcycle enthusiasts. They have recently unveiled their latest addition to the lineup, the Himalayan 450. This adventure bike comes in four different variants, catering to various preferences and riding styles. The starting price for this model is at Rs 2. 69 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive option for those looking to explore the roads less traveled. Royal Enfield made this announcement during the prestigious Motoverse event held in Goa in 2023.
Himalayan 450
Royal Enfield has introduced the Himalayan 450 as a replacement for the Himalayan 411 in their product lineup. This new model is built on a robust twin-spar tubular frame, specifically designed to tackle rugged terrains with ease. Notable features of the bike include an LED headlamp for enhanced visibility and a 4-inch digital instrument console that offers Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, it incorporates a Ride-by-Wire system, adding to its overall performance capabilities.
The Himalayan 450 boasts a powerful 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It delivers an impressive performance with 39. 5 BHP at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 40 Nm at 5, 500 rpm. To enhance the riding experience, the engine is coupled with a smooth-shifting 6-speed gearbox and features a slip-and-assist clutch for optimal control. Additionally, riders have the choice between two riding modes – Eco mode for fuel efficiency and Performance mode for an exhilarating ride.
The ADV model features a 43 mm upside-down front fork with 200 mm of travel and a rear monoshock that is adjustable, also providing 200 mm of travel. The braking system includes a single 320 mm disc at the front and a 270 mm disc at the rear, accompanied by switchable ABS for added safety. This bike rides on spoked wheels, with a 21-inch size in the front and a 17-inch size in the rear, both fitted with dual-purpose tires.
